Recording on Orchid Classics of Julian Marshall's astonishing setting (in an English translation) of the poetry of Gertrud Kolmar for Tenor, cello sextet and three-part chorus. This wonderful work is OUT NOW.
Clicking on the image will take you to Orchid's webpage.
This is a work in five short movements, where we experience flight from the city into the forest to meet a presence whom we cannot comprehend. We seek and offer refuge. Kolmar was a German Jewish poet writing in the 1930s.
And another new release just about to come out. Stephen Dogson songs for various voices and with piano (Chris Glynn) or guitar (Mark Eden). This is the first of I think three discs in total, which will have all of Stephen's songs recorded. It's been a huge project, all over lock-down, and it's wonderful to see it finally coming to fruition. I'll put a link to Somm's website on the image.
